Maria Brunet was appointed Honorary Consul of Brazil for Colorado in September 2019. She is a dual citizen Brazilian-American. She holds a degree in Business from the University of São Paulo (USP)- Brazil, an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of OTTAWA- Canada, and a Management Program from ESSEC- France.
She traveled and worked extensively in Europe, the Americas, and China. Maria speaks five languages. She worked for more than 25 years for 300 fortune companies in finance, marketing, and merger and acquisition on Banking and Financial Institutions. Maria is a former President of a non-profit in Brazil, France, and the USA; she ran a family investment fund that incubated and scaled a portfolio of businesses and led to commercial transactions and successful exits. Currently, she is Co-founder and President of Aspen Growth Ventures LLC. In addition, she is an investor and mentor on starts up in CO and a Board member of a few no-profits and for-profit organizations.
She serves on several educational and charity organizations for children and women in Brazil and non-profits organizations in the USA. She lives in the Boulder area.
