Anders Tørnquist was appointed Honorary Consul of Norway to Colorado and Wyoming by Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs Anniken Huitfeldt on May 11, 2022. He was elected Vice Dean of the Consular Corps of Colorado in May 2024, and Dean in May 2025.
Originally from Norway, Anders moved to the United States in 1989 to complete his engineering studies. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and a Master of Science in Technology Management from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology.
He is a strategic enabler with extensive experience in supporting mission-driven organizations in operationalizing excellence at scale. His expertise includes Business Capability Modeling – the link between Strategy & Execution, Business Process Architecture to optimize workflows, and implementing robust governance frameworks that reduces risk, ensures quality & compliance across globally distributed teams.
Since relocating to Colorado in 1997, Anders has been an active member of the international and local community. He holds dual citizenship in Norway and the United States. He is married to Marta Ujma-Tørnquist, a citizen of Poland and the U.S., originally from Warsaw. Together they have two children, Michael and Anna – citizens of the U.S., Norway and Poland.
The Tørnquist family resides in Arapahoe County and shares a deep love of animals and the outdoors. They are avid participants in a wide range of activities including skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking, kayaking, paddle boarding, camping, and scuba diving.
