Srečko “Lucky” Vidmar was born in 1972 in Pula, a town on the Adriatic Coast, now in Croatia, into a Slovenian family. In 1989, he came to Colorado as a high school exchange student and then, in 1990, he moved to Colorado to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder where he earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer science (in 1994 and 1997 respectively). After university, Lucky worked as a software development consultant on complex projects designed to improve the nation’s response to earthquake, tsunami, and volcano disasters.
In 2003, Lucky obtained his law degree from the University of Denver College of Law, after also studying at the Hague Academy of International Law in 2002. After 15 years in private practice, Lucky now works as a Technology Counsel of Western Union, where he provides global support to technology development and innovation teams. Lucky also serves on the Board of Directors of the Nanda Center for International Law at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
Lucky is fluent in Slovenian and Croatian, and conversational in Italian.
Lucky and his wife Aubrey Ardema live in the historic Five Points neighborhood of downtown Denver.
