Tamara Gorenc was appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Slovenia in April 2024.
Tamara grew up in Denver. Her parents were immigrants from former Yugoslavia. When she completed her education, Tamara lived in Slovenia with her mother for six months. There she met her husband Miro. They have 3 children, Tanja, Marko and Matthew who all speak Slovenian and carry on the traditions of their grandmother’s homeland.
Tamara has been a travel agent for 35 years, and has owned and operated her own business for 20 years. She plans trips worldwide, and specializes in trips to Slovenia.
Tamara has planned and hosted the Slovenian picnic in Denver for over 10 years. During that time, the group has grown to over 150 people that are Slovenian or do business with Slovenia.
Tamara enjoys traveling the world, reading, gardening and playing with her grand-daughter.
