Marie Forsberg was appointed Honorary Consul Designate in January 2023 and has served as Honorary Consul of Sweden for Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming since September 2024.
Born and raised in Sweden, Marie’s global career spans leadership roles in international business, trade, and cultural exchange. Her work with multinational corporations led her to relocate to Colorado in 1999.
A solution-oriented business leader and social entrepreneur, Marie is passionate about building bridges between people, cultures, and businesses. She has been a board member of the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce in Colorado (SACC-CO) since 2013 and served as its President (2020-2023), advancing international trade and talent mobility while deepening Swedish-American relations.
Marie is committed to youth empowerment and social impact. She has been dedicated to help young professionals thrive through SACC-USA’s Talent Mobility program, served as Director of Ice Skating for Special Olympics Colorado 2009-2010, and as co-founder of Friends Colorado (Together for Change), 2015-2023 worked with the Swedish organization Friends to promote bullying prevention and foster safe, kind, and inclusive environments for children.
Driven by the belief that cross-cultural collaboration and youth engagement are essential to a united world, Marie continues to serve as a connector, advocate, and community builder.
